To add to what DianeMK said about eyes, cigarette smoking will agravate
your eye symptoms. Many eye surgeons will not operate if you are currently a smoker.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Anna (you wrote),

. The ones that are having any of these symptoms such as, doubled vision, protruding eyes, pains, etc…I would like to know if this occured after or b4 the RAI treatment,

For me it started 3 years post RAI.

or the duration of being on the anti-thyroid meds or the thyroid meds?

I was on thyroid replacement therapy when it started.

Do any of you smoke cigerettes?

    No, I do not snoke.

When you were first diagnosis w/ GD, were you considered to be very or mild hyper?

I was very hyper with a pulse of 220.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you all.

The eye disease can come at any stage. Some people get diagnosed because their eyes are so bad with Graves’ Others, it is after RAI, and then those who have no sign of Graves’ but have the eye disease. It affects people differently also. Some have severe swelling and bulging of hte eys and others like myself show no outward appearance of it but have had bad muscle swelling behind the eyes.

Just have a good baseline eye exam and report any sudden changes to your opthalmologist.

    Hope this helped:)
