If you already have osteopenia, your window of opportunity for weight-bearing exercise and calcium supplements may have already closed. I just left a meeting with a huge FOSAMAX display. I’vre been on it for about two and a half years. I broke my wrist(s) three times in eighteen months. I was falling a lot (double vision, etc–it coldn’t be that I am also a klutz!) You have to take it on an empty stomach. Check with your pharmacist about the PTU.

Is anyone taking PTU and Fosomax (for bone loss)? I have osteopenia, the precursor to osteoporosis, and have been trying to research Fosomax for my age group (I’m 37), but have not had much luck. I am also thinking about using nutritional supplements and lots of weight bearing exercise for a year to see if that stops the bone loss before going on the Fosomax. Has anyone used supplements successfully in stopping bone loss? Does anyone know anything about a product called Osteoprocare?
All comments welcome, good or bad! Thank you!
