ELI LILLEY has applied to sell Prozac to children.
If the thought of this makes you feel sick say so
all over the internet in as many newsgroups as possible.
Don’t forget that many depressed children *may* have
a thyroid disorder. They are children, they have no voice, don’t leave this
as someone elses problem to sort out. These companies
do not know what effect these drugs are going to have
long term on them or their children. Children are
little people who will grow up to run the World we
live in.To make you feel *really sick* they even make them pepermint
flavoured designed to make them more attractive to children.
How many thyroid tablets are made easier for the children to
take?Carol

AnonymousAugust 19, 1997 at 5:37 pmPost count: 93172Actually, I am bothered by the readiness of doctors, teachers and some parents to medicate their children into better behavior. For example, my nephew has gone through custody battles and divorce at an early age and overall, he is very well behaved. He has been put on Ritalin because the new adults in his life have a hard time with him. I bet he has a hard time too figuring out the rules for so many different people. His mother always forgets to give me Ritalin for him when I keep him and guess what? When she remembers, I forget too. He is very well behaved. He just talks alot. So do I. I am not implying that there is some use for many new drugs that weren’t available when I was a kid but there is a line after lunch at the nurses office for the kids. I have anotehr friend who’s child has received good benefits with this drug. I would hate to see Prozac abused in the ways I feel Ritalin is.
Secondly, have you noticed that synthroid tastes like a sugar pill. It is not bad enough tasting for kids to regret accidently getting into mama’s pills. I wish it were. I don’t even like to think about it. But I keep my pills put away. As if my kids can’t get into everything as it is. They’re almost 6 and almost 9. Hopefully indoctrinated about other peoples medicine.

Also, has anyone ever experienced an allergic reaction like throat swelling, tongue swelling and/or both with some tingling on the tongue after eating snowking crab legs? I don’t get the same reaction when I eat fish, shrimp or scallogs or immitation crab legs.
In response to generic or brand name medications, all my doctors are very much in agreement that only synthroid works well for most people, especially me, whereas the generic form of synthroid did not work for me.
Thanks everyone for your help and support,
