Hi. I am so glad to discover you all here. I have felt very alone with
my Graves. I was diagnosed a year ago this week after two years of
symptoms. I have been taking PTU for a year. I just moved from
California to the Oregon Coast and have had to change doctors. This
doctor is weaning me off PTU, and I’m very nervous about what is going
to happen. So far, I’ve been having some dizzy spells, but otherwise
feel okay. My question is, does anyone know of any kind of support in
Oregon? It’s pretty isolated out here. The nearest endocrinologist is
in Portland, a 2 1/2 hour drive. But at least my internal medicine MD is
willing to consult with him, which my previous pill-pushing doctor was
not. Again, glad you’re here.
