I previously said I had keratitis in my eye. Not! That is what the nurse told me when I had called back to confirm what the optho had said to me.
That was a few weeks ago. To bad she just listened to me instead of actually checking my record. Dah?
Well, I called my HMO again today asking about my eyes and the optho called me back and after some discussion, she figured out that she had said Chemosis. She even spelled it for me. She said to just keep putting in the eye drops every hour. I looked up chemosis on the net and it means conjunctival edema. I gave up after that. Wasn’t having much luck!
She had said that it was part of having Graves. To much eye exposure I guess!
After all my complaining I am begining to realize I just better get used to how I look and the pain that comes with the eye problems. She suggested I wear sun glasses when I said I did not like how I looked with my eyes sticking out and the kunk in my eyes. She also said I could put ointment in my eyes. That is when I complained about waking up with pain in my left eye every morning. I hate going to work looking like this. She was quick to let me know that I had an appt scheduled with a Graves Eye Thyroid doctor on the 30th and that she was busy. She did not seem optimistic about what the next doctor was going to say either.
Well I had to clear that up….. Michele
