My daughter is 21 yrs. old and was diagnoised with graves’ when she was 19, after my father’s sudden death. She went through some “tough times” with her health, but feels much better now that she’s on PTU. Her endo has told us that it is time to take further steps, suggesting the radiation therepy. The problem is, she looks great! and feels great! She doesn’t want to take any “further steps” at all. She has a beautiful figure, and knows that weight gain is inevitable. I wish I could take this awful disease from her, but of course, I know that’s impossible! I’ve read on this BB that weight gain is probably also inevitable even if she decides on the surgery. I hate to think of her having to go through those awful symptoms all over again…she had hair loss, tremmors, heart palpetations, emotional outbursts, sleepless nights, just to name a few! I’m so grateful for this BB ‘cuz it answers a lot of my questions. I just needed to vent…she’s scared, and so am I. Thanks for listening
