    Ruby,

I can’t vouch for what symptoms she may get back for a while once she gets RAI, but I guess I’m one of the lucky ones as far as weight. I had RAI a little over a year ago, and basically gained maybe five pounds at the most. There was really very little change to my weight, and I am now pretty hypo without my hormone replacement. Some people gain weight with Grave’s, so you never know. Nothing is inevitable.

RAI is definitely a big step you don’t take lightly. But if she’s been on ATDs for two years or more usually they recommend RAI if you’re not in remission on your own. It’s rough, but in the end I’vefound it was worth it since now I don’t have hyper episodes to worry about!
