What you are taking is called a ” Dose-Pak “. When I had my allergic reaction, I was given one. Because there were ( I think ) 5 doses that first day, I complained to a friend ( a Doc ) that I couldn’t keep track of when to take all those meds!! The Benadryl, and the Tagamet ( used for the anti-histamine properties ), and the Vistaril, and the Inderal ( all for the allergic reaction, except of course, the beta blocker ). He said ” take all the steroids at once “. I looked on the Pak, and sure enough, the pharmacist had labeled it as such, even though the little blister card read, ” take two in the morning before breakfast, one before lunch,etc. ” So I took them that way . I believe the dosage is 4mg per pill on the dose pak, which only totals a max of 20 mg for that first day, tapering down the next four days. When I finished that pak, I had 3 days of high dose steroids ( 40 mg A.M. and 40 mg. P.M. ). Lin
