My teenage son who has his father’s wickedly twisted sense of humor, has become the unofficial barometer of my labile emotional states. He just came in, kissed me and said, “Good night, Cruella.” At least he was smiling when he said it!

I was wondering if anyone has emotional problems with their Graves disease? I seem to get depressed and obsessive compulsive thinking and nervous. I don’t sleep very well because I worry. I am in remission and still feel these things but not as bad. Most things talked about on this board is the physical aspects of this disease. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes Emotions run amuck with this disease. When Hyper, I thought for sure I was dying. I thought this is not normal and I must have a brain tumor or something and the worse I felt the more I was sure it was over. I never told anyone just had the thoughts in my head. I then felt better after RAI and felt good for a month and then Hypo set in annd I let it go too long and got really depressed because of the Hypo depression was one of the symptons. It gradually got better as I got regulated. Make sure you let your dr know if you feel worse so you can get checked for normal levels. Good Luck to you
