I also had terrble itching but not from the medication from the disease
itself. Everytime my levels were off I would get terrible itching.Once
I was stablized on my medication (tapazole) I was fine. I always thought
that the itching was caused by the thyroid being off.AnonymousAugust 25, 1997 at 5:27 pmPost count: 93172In desperation I decided to try a facial moisturizer on my body because the regular skin lotion, even with benedryl cream mixed in wasn’t working. After only two days of putting Oil of Olay on my arms, legs, back and stomach, I have to say it really helps. Now if I could just figure out a way to run it into my scalp! Maybe regular moisturizer lotion or cream will help some of you.

Tried antihistamine pills (which my doctor prescribed after I showed him pictures of my scratch-induced rashes), but they made me zombie-like. Nothing works but cold cold water. I sympathize with everyone who has this! I think it’s from the PTU (I take 200 mg/day).

that when my thyroid is off I get a bad case of the itches. Does anyone
else notice this?AnonymousJuly 26, 1999 at 10:40 pmPost count: 93172Described my symptoms to the doc’s office..they called me earlier this evening to have a blood test done immediately in the morning. I may be hyper again. I hate this. I hate having to go through this. I don’t *want* to go through with this. I feel like a pin cushion everytime I get my blood withdrawn. It hurts adn I end up bruising for a week.
I guess I won’t have the results for a few days. I feel like taking a phone book and ripping it apart among other things. Thanks to everyone who has answered my posts either back channel or here. I don’t have time to respond to each of them but wanted to say thanks.
