Boy, that’s a tough one! I’m in a similar situation as you, only it’s my GP that’s over 100 miles away. Is there any way that you could have your GP do the blood draw closer to the date of your appt with the endo? Say, like a week beforehand? Then he could fax the results to the endo. I’d be a little hesitant about having the blood drawn 2 weeks ahead of time just in case your levels would change during that time. On the other hand, you’ll probably have to go back to the endo a week later if he does the blood work, so I can understand your reluctance to make that drive if you don’t absolutely have to! Could you see if your GP would draw it about a week before you go to the endo?

AnonymousJuly 19, 2000 at 3:50 pmPost count: 93172While visiting with the surgeon last week, he mentioned something that I’ve never heard associated with graves’ before. The doctor said that through researching people with graves’, they have found that a lot of the patients are either left handed or have dyslexia. Has anyone ever heard of this before? My daughter (the warrior with graves’) is dyselxic…while my son (who does NOT have graves’) is left handed! The doctor said that my son might want to keep a watch on his thyroid at regular physical visits with his doctor…seeing that graves’ is in the family and all. Just a question I wanted to run by all of you!
Thanks!
