There is an interesting article in the July 20, 1998 issue of Newsweek, page 14. The title is “Who Needs Doctors? The Boom in Home Testsing.”
The article talks about the types of tests currently available, and the types of tests being developed for home use. Sorry, thyroid isn’t mentioned. But, the article does have some interesting things to say about reliability of home tests, and the potential uses.
