I first broke out in severe hives back in October and then was diagnosed with Graves. My allergist said that my immune system is attacking the excess hormones from the Graves and that’s the cause of the hives. I had RAI 2 weeks ago and am not on any medication other than Allegra & Benadryl. The hives are still very severe. Anyone else have this problem?

Hello Dixiecup,
I didn’t notice your posting until I had already posted ‘Embarrassing red
rash all over chest!!’ – – The hives, at least in my case, have no correlation
between being hyper or not. I’m hypo & I still get the VERY noticeable red
chest/neck/face blotches.. I’ve been getting them for years consistently!!

The Thyroid Sourcebook (Sara Rosenthal) lists hives as a symptom of either hyper or hypo. Dianne N
