Just a quick question. Can anyone explain. Background: Had RAI treatment May 95, was hypothyroid in Aug 95 and began taking Synthroid. Finally got levels adjusted in Apr 96. All levels have been within normal range i.e. T-4, T-3, T-7 and TSH. Recently, my doctor did a test and my TSH level was 11.6 when the normal range is .40-4.2. I questioned my doctor and he said that we watch the T-4 level and it is normal 10.9, range is 5.0-12.0 and that the 11.6 number on TSH is ok. I am concerned about this as i read where an elevated TSH signals central nervous system insufficiency of throid hormone. Can anyone shed light on this?
    Thanks so much.

How long should I expect it to take before my
TSH rises back into the normal range? I’ve been on
Tapazole for eight months and all my other thyroid levels
(T3, T4, etc.) are in the normal range and have been for
months. My TSH is still less than 0.1.
