This may give help to some people who are hypo. For those of you that may get sluggish and groggy or tired after a meal, here is a possible solution to help reduce a little of that feeling.
I’ve been writing about the amino acid tyrosine, which is an active participant in thyroid hormone production, as well as brain function. Well, when you eat a high-carbohydrate meal, your body produces high amounts ot tryptophan, an amino acid that has the opposite effects of tyrosine, and makes you tired and groggy. Taking a tyrosine supplement before you conosume the meal may conteract tryptophan, and you may not be so groggy. the two amino acids sorta cancel each other out. About 1 gram would do the job.
