We have all been where you are today — some of us were there yesterday, a few more will be there tomorrow. Some days the harsh realities of dealing with a disease that plays havoc with our entire body hits harder than others. One of the things that is the hardest for me to deal with is looking in the mirror and wondering where I went. The person in the mirror doesn’t look a thing like the person I knew before GD reared it’s head. I also get sick and tired of dealing with doctors who want to treat me like a lab rat or a lab report and not a person. So enjoy your party — you’ve earned it! Just remember, as good old Scarlett O’Hara once said, “Tomorrow is another day.” Hope it’s a brighter one for you.
To Steve: In my “wild woman” college days, my friends and I would Xerox our rear ends, draw big red lips on the copy, sign it, and mail it to people who honked us off. I’m not sure how to do that over the Internet but I’m sure there must be a way to do it! Enjoyed your rant this morning! Hang in there!

After reading all these bulletins I am determined to get a specialist on GD – any suggestions how?

InactiveApril 3, 1997 at 11:59 pmPost count: 93172That’s the problem – all I do is bitch and complain – no wonder no one will come to my party!!! I feel very ugly and fat and tired. I have no energy and no ambition to do anything. I put everything off that I possibly can because I am depressed and would rather sit in a corner than be sociable. There, now I’ve said it and maybe feel a bit better for it. Time to get off my butt and do something constructive. Luci if you’re out there thanks for the e-mail. I will write back real soon. It helped me start seeing things a little differently. I guess one day at a time is how to take it. I have had a migraine since yesterday but it’s slowly going away. Tomorrow I plan on sitting down and writing a list of all the things I can control instead of thinking about the things I can’t. Here’s hoping… Thanks for coming to my party, maybe next time I can go to yours! Kindest regards
