I changed my name to Angie K since I saw another Angie on the board. Ellie! It’s me! :o)

Anyways for those of you who have had RAI and became hypo did you gain much weight???? I just had the RAI today, and I’m worried about gaining weight. I know every case is different and it depends on my own body but I’d sure like to hear your experiences. If you did gain weight were you able to lose it once your meds for Hypo were at the right level?? Thank you in advance!

Hi Angie,

I gained 10 lbs total but has only been 4 months, one thing I did was started eating chicken fish turkey and fruit and veggies right away, but I am on .125 mg of Synthroid, I want to get rid of the 10 lbs I had already gained 18 lbs to that point from quitting smokeing. I don’t think the medication gets all straightened out for about a year, at least this is what I have been told. There is some useful information in the Mineing Co.
Stay in touch with the board too, the support is wonderful during this time.
