      Hi everyone,

I had RAI in Jan, went hypo the beginning of May, am on 100 mcg of Synthroid and have been having achy muscles, especially my arms and in the area of my neck and shoulders. I know the muscle aches are a sign of being hypo, but it’s mainly in the sides and back of my neck and shoulders. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, it seems to be more prounounced in the afternoon. It almost feels like the beginning of the flu, but then it’s going every morning. Any ideas? Thanks.

I had lots of muscle cramps and aches when I went hypo and it just took time for the replacement meds to get things back in balance. Also, I made sure I drank tons of water, got plenty of rest, took some vitamins that helped, and tested my patience:-)

Hang in there and take it easy,
        Melinda

          Thanks Melinda,

It’s just nice to know that hopefully this will all go away!

            Hey,

I’m new at this. I only have email at work so I’m limited on how often I log in. I have just been diagnosed with GD and have enjoyed reading your comments/questions.

I go for a scan next week and to an opthomologist (sp?) Can anyone give me a GREAT website to access that will give me all the information I need to make an educated decision? I can’t find enough information that will tell me long term effects of radiation/surgery. My dr. is leaning towards surgery. I assumed I would have the operation and everything would be back to “normal” (whatever that is). But from reading your messages I get the impression that is not the case.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

            Thanks

            Serio
