      Hi Gwen!

      Seems like I remember reading somewhere that there are two causes of proptosis in Graves’ Ophthalmopathy. One is the swollen muscles and the other is “fatty” type deposits. If I recall correctly, the radiation is only effective on the muscle inflammation type of proptosis, they can tell this from the MRI or CT scan of the orbits. Do you know any more about this subject?
