      That’s a new one on me. I am taking a pill to control massive bleeding. I also was warned that if the bleeding wasn’t stopped that I would have to go on a more powerful pill. Are you sure this is a ob/gyn? Need another opinion.

        Hello, i was told by my doctor that i could not go on birth control
        pills because of my graves disease.
        why would that be?

          I am not on the pill, but I am on the depo-provera shot and I have no problems with it interacting with my PTU or anything. It seems to work just great. Not being on any birth control can be a problem. The reason he may not let you on the pill is because it peaks once a month and people with Graves hyper-ovulate so it isn’t that effective. Rather than needing a peak once a month you may need a peak of 2 or 3 times a month.
