This is a special wish to all my American Friends
A very Happy Thanksgiving to you all from Canada!
You have given me much to be thankful for with all
your sharing and advice.
I really do not know what I did before I found
this BB. It has been a Godsend. A place to turn to when
you know no one else understands. A place where you always
get a sympathetic ear. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart…
Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless
Lynn From TorontoAnonymousNovember 11, 1997 at 6:08 pmPost count: 93172It is getting to be that time of year again. Although I give thanks for many things during the year, maybe it is time to start our lists. Perhaps just as a diversion to all the pain and heartache we have been going through, I could start a list and each of you could add to it.
These are some things I am thankful for:
1. My Creator
2. My fantastic sons
3. My sister and brother
4. My new “shister” Sue Rose!
5. Dianne and all the rest of you on this BB
6. The ability to control my healthcare.
7. Waking up every morning
8. A roof over my head and food in my stomach
9. the ability to give back to others what you have all been giving me.and now it is someone else’s turn. My list is by no means complete, but perhaps if we think of what we have to give thanks for, it might lighten our burden a little bit.
thank God for all of you!

10. My boss, who notices when I feel extra tired and actually asks
what she can do to lighten my load.
11. My new nephew, born hypothyroid last week.
12. The state of Nebraska, which routinely tests thyroid levels of
all newborns.
13. The beautiful “winter wonderland” snow we received here today (and
which didn’t stick to the roads.)
14. My friend who was sick at Thanksgiving last year and for whom I
made Thanksgiving dinner and who made me laugh this morning by
putting her order in for Lobster this year.
15. Finding this BB full of caring, intelligent people from whom I’ve
learned so much and found so much with which to relate.Okay, now it’s your turn…..

AnonymousNovember 22, 2000 at 10:24 pmPost count: 93172Thank you all for the love and support that has been shown to myself and others this past year. I look back on where I was at this time last year (diagnosed with Graves Sept 99, took RAI Oct 99), and I am doing so much better. Altho I still have daily struggles with being tired and flip flopping back and forth between hyper and hypo, I usually have at least 2-3 weeks of feeling normal. Usually a medicine dose change and a week later I feel good again, till next time. I missed sending Christmas cards out for the first year in 22 years, but I was just not able to do it. I am happy to say that I already have half of my cards addressed for this year. A big change for me was giving up a great paying job with lots of stress and going back to being less dedicated (sorry), but while I miss the pay, I do not miss the aggravation of what helped get me ill. I pray that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember it may take time, but you will also feel better once treated. It just may take getting adjusted better. Have a wonderful Holiday and my thanks to all of you and our wonderful facilitators for your support and guidance during the past year.
