        Hi Sue!

Normal TSH level for my lab is 0.4-4.0 Free T-4 is 0.8-1.9
Your TSH at .06 and Free T-4 of 4.63 shows you to be significantly hyper, unless your lab uses an entirely different scale than mine. Did he raise your PTU?

              Hi Sue,

You need to try to get the actual lab results on paper. They usually list
the normal ranges for all your tests. The TSH is low, but it is detectable.
Mine is still .03 or less. I don’t know about the T4. My test range for
              T4 is 4.5 to 12.0.

              Hope you’re feeling well.

We are (as Glynis pointed out) legally entitled to copies of all our medical records, including lab reports. I requested and received a copy of my entire file, and found it quite interesting. As Bobbi said, what the doctor told me wasn’t always exactly supported by the thyroid function tests. My endo could have started me on thyroid replacement before I was so severely symptomatic, and saved me lots of misery, if he’d heeded the first test that was below normal. Now, when I’m told a test was “in the normal range”, I ask for the numbers. If I’m talking to an office nurse, she will sometimes tell me the doctor has would have to give me that information, so I ask for her to either have him call me, or send me a copy of my lab test! :) Dianne N

Hello! My endo called today to confirm that I have Graves Disease (my antibodies were positive) but said my T4 shows mild hyperthyroidism. Ironically, I have been more bothered by tachycardia and jitters this week. I am hopeful that he will suggest that I pursue meds but I will consider RAI if neccessary. Thanks to everyone for your kind words and advice.
P.S. I heard about the GMA segment. Hopefully it will make more people aware of our plight!
