    Elaine,

I am a diabetic and usually crave sweets but lately I was one thing Bacon. I feel like the dog in the commercial that shouts “GIMME BACON”

I seldom before this ever craved it. I figure that there is something in it that my body needs.

thanks diane and cathryn for the messages re food cravings. knowing it’s possibly related to graves makes it somehow more manageable. I must admit that for the 11 years i’ve had graves, i’ve given it very little thought after that first few months. Other than they yucky leg skin and the extra pounds, i can’t complain. At 50, I work full time at one hospital lab and fill in part-time at another, I’m an aspiring writer with a few publications, and i work out daily, usually tae-bo. At 50, I have great vision and only wear reading glasses at work occasionally. At 5’8″ i weigh 150 and I look fit rather than lean like I used to look. Oh well. For all you newbies who are scared, don’t be. This disease is really for the most part manageable.

Bacon ~~~ Sounds like it’s salt – h-m-m-m, or perhaps fat?
