P.S. The only days I seem to feel pretty good are when I’m ovulating. When PMS hits, look out! Just wondered if any of you other ladies experience this. Thanks!
You seem to be having too many symptoms to be seen only every 2 months. That’s only 6 times in a year! That would not be often enough for me. I haven’t had my thyroid removed yet, but did speak with the my endo about what it would be like afterward and she said she would see me at least once a month, sooner if need be, until I was balanced on replacement hormone and FEELING WELL.
Maybe you could advocate to get tested and seen more often….. or have blood tests more often and phone consults over the results if the MD doesn’t want to actually see you sooner.
Hope you feel better soon.

> experience this.Generally 1 week and then again 2 days before my period starts, I get moody and want to be left alone. My boyfriend generally understands but last month I felt irritable in the AM by the afternoon I felt great.
That night I went out with him and his co-workers. By the time we left, I wanted to go home. He said “why did you come out then??” I said “felt good then started feeling irritable.” We were mad at each other but we make up quickly.Good Luck!

Hi all. I am 2 months post-op for total thyroidectomy. It has been a roller coaster. I was started on levoxyl the day after surgery. After a week I was convinced that I was hypo. By the time I went to the endo for my 2 month checkup I was hyper. My dose was lowered one level, and that was 2 weeks ago. I have been irritable, don’t sleep well, cry easily, and have vivid and sometimes violent dreams. Has anyone else experienced this? I have also gained weight and my muscles don’t seem to have much gusto–become breathless pretty quickly.
I just need some good old encouragement! I go back to the endo in 2 more months. He said if things get worse to call him, that he could give me something to help out until I’m regulated. He said things should only get better. Is this true? Thanks!
Hi Bevgullet,
I just wanted to send some encouragement! YES, things will get better, YES, you will feel well at some point. See-sawing toward your perfect level of replacement can be tough, but you’re narrowing the search closer and closer each time, so you should never feel awful AWFUL again. It is a time-consuming thing, so patience is essential, but you are closer than you’ve ever been since you were first diagnosed, so hopefully that helps.
Remember, baby steps get us there!

NGDF Assistant Online FacilitatorYou are so right. I get mad a lot but I get most at the disease it self plus the other auto immune disorders I deal with. People don’t see the inside where the moster live they just see the outside which to them looks “great” no idea at all they have. My emotions are on a roller coster all the time. When I am going 90 miles in the fast lane most of the time I don’t even know I am there….LOL…LOL….LOL…
It is so nice to know I am not by myself. Thanks for you kind words and sharing. I will try to hang in there my friend.Lady Char
