    First time post.

I received a high dose of radioiodine in 2023.

Unfortunately, that very same day my ex partner grabbed me by the throat.

I did not disclose this to doctors.

I have always been curious as to whether that was the reason it failed and I can’t find anything online about it.

I went under for just over 2 months then the hyper symptoms came back raging.

Did anyone here have a similar experience ie throat trauma, or does anyone know if this would make that treatment fail?

    Thanks
    Kim

Hello – I’m so sorry that happened to you. How scary! RAI can fail, even without trauma to the thyroid, so it’s difficult to say if the RAI would have been successful otherwise. You might also check out our Facebook group to see if others have had similar experiences. From Facebook, search for GDATF and then select “Join Group” and answer the new member questions. We’ll get you approved within one business day. Take care!
