There was a time after my first decompression surgery that the eye doctor told me not to worry about my appearance. At that time I couldn’t see anyway and didn’t really know what I looked like. I told him I didn’t really care what I looked like as long as I could see. I really felt that way. Looking at some family pictures that were taken during that time I can see why kids stared at me in the drugstore and adults quickly glanced away, but no one treated me differently. Five years later I still have some nasty eye problems and I still don’t care how I look. The big question is how is your vision.
