My GP is a DO, and he has been absolutely wonderful. When I didn’t care for an endo he sent me to, he found someone else. As in other things, it’s the person.

I noticed that in the area we are moving to in the Fall, there is an Endo who is a D.O., not an M.D. Does anyone know what the difference would be? Do DO’s tend to be more conservative in their treatment? I’m so ignorant, I didn’t even know DO’s could have specialities!!!

A D.O. can double as a chiroprator, only, a regular chiroprator cannot prescrib meds, while a D.O. can. Personnally, I would try the D.O. first to see if you can talk with him/her. I have learned to “interview” doctors, much the same way you would if you are going to hire any one to do work for you.
