      Yes, I saw something on TV about how thyroid patients should not take echinacea. Also contraindicated for Graves
      patients — Melatonin (can cause heartbeat disturbances).

      Also, I was on Medscape the other day reading the particulars about methimazole. One of the
      things it warned about was NOT to take Vitamin B complex while on it. Awhile back, when
      I was feeling really tired this summer, I started taking vitamin B pills, and stopped
      because they were making me hyper and jumpy. Now I know why–they don’t
      mix well with methimazole.

      Although alternative/herb medications are currently in vogue, I think it would
      be prudent for thyroid patients to investigate them thoroughly before ingesting.
