OK, I need some input from the experienced members of the board here. Last week my bloodwork showed a TSH of .3 — just over the edge of normal and into the hyper zone. My endo wants to keep me at my current level of synthroid for five more weeks (.125mg). The symptoms keep getting worse. Yesterday my heart rate was 115bpm taking 40 mg of beta blockers. Of couurse, Murphy’s Law LIVES, and my endo is out-of-town this weekend, so I cannot reach her until Monday. I feel like I’m doing this to myself by continuing to take the synthroid. I DON’T want to take that pill this morning. Part of the problem for me is that I’m supposed to fly to Hawaii on Tuesday. Under normal circumstances, I sometimes get panic attacks on airplanes. I know how to cope with them, and while they’re not pleasant, they don’t keep me from flying. But the thought of having a potential panic attack on top of the raised heart beat, terrifies me. What I want to do is drop back my level of synthroid, starting now. I have some .1mg left over from my first prescription. I’d like to see if taking less calms me down a bit. My endo left the number of another endo for “medical emergencies”, but somehow I don’t think this qualifies. Have any of you, who had RAI, experienced something like this, and found it to be a temporary abberration? There’s also the worry that whatever is left of my thyroid is going into hyperspace and that I could find myself in Hawaii, two weeks from now, worse than I am now. I really don’t want to have to cancel out of this trip, but I’m really worried.

    Bobbi
