For those of you who are infomaniacs (or just plain maniacs) interested in current information:

Today, Reuters Information Services excerpts an article in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology which suggests that interrupted pregnancies can be the cause of thyroiditis. (I assume that means even early pregnancies which you may not even know you had.)

Knoll Pharmeuceuticals is paying the $135million to “individuals” involved in class action lawsuits (?) I don’t know the details — assumed they were paying off their competitors in the levothroid market.

The Public Citizen Health Newsletter lists two batches of thyroid replacements which were either improperly stored or subdosage. The batch numbers were listed. If you’re interested, e-mail me for brand and batch number.

I’ve been immersed in the DOE archives of early human radiation experiments, specifically the early “studies” on the use of I-131 for Graves’. This is a hard pill for some of you to swallow, I know. (No pun, of course) So far, I am not too impressed with what I’m reading. It’s pretty shocking, actually. It’ll be a long time before I’m done.
