I must admit I have trouble trusting physicians. I’ve worked in a hospital for 16 years and have seen it all. It’s also part of my personality to mistrust others who have control over me. With that said, I recently switched endos because he did some things which played into my fears. Now I have a new one and am fearful too. It bugs me that we need these people so much. I also respect physicans for their knowledge and dedication so my feelings aren’t all one sided. MY question is: do I need to choose carefully the Nuclear medicine doc who administers my RAI? I am hoping to meet with him prior to the dose. Are there any questions I should ask specifically about dose, etc. Should I choose someone who administers RAI frequently? I live in S. Jersey a stone’s throw from Philadelphia, if anyone knows of someone in this area it would help. Any comments which will help me make my choice will be appreciated.
