      Bruce-

Thanks for your opinion. I defintely will see an Ophthalmologist about my eye condition. I am not experiencing any double-vision or any vision problems for that matter. I’m in my early twenty’s and just got diagnosed two years a go and my father who has it this disease was diagnosed a couple years a go —but he’s 55 years old. I just get disappointed but I will be patient.

      Thanks again! :)

I know how you feel. I’ve had GD for two years now and I’ve been through
everything. I’ve had 2 high doses of RAI, I’ve lost hair, my eyes are huge
and very sensitive to light. They get red and watery if I don’t wear sunglasses
outside (even on cloudy days). To top it off, I’ve had Thyroid Storm twice.
I feel I’m very lucky to be around today. I hate GD too but I’m learning
to live with it. The only good thing I can say I like about it is the weight
loss. I’ve been able to eat anything for the last 2 years. It’s great. Allund today. I hate GD too but I’m learning
to live with it. The only good thing I can say I like about it is the weight %

I know how you feel about your eyes. I look like a different person. I did not know there was a disease that could make you look different. I am hoping with all of my heart that the orbital radiation works so that I can have my eyes operated on.

I was informed 2 weeks ago that I probably have Graves; had the radio active scan done last week and am to see my endocrinologist tomorrow to discuss treatment. I probably have had this disease for several years; it’s funny how the symptoms can ease their way into your life and you figure they’re from stress or whatever. Until you can no longer ignore the pounding heart and shakes, etc. I was thrilled to find this BB; seeing what others are going through helps. I’m pretty sure that I will choose radioactive iodine as treatment as I don’t want to mess with pills to counter the hyperthyroid; hypo sounds so calm versus what I feel right now! Can the hyper return after the radio active treatment?
