Shannon,
My synthroid bottle says take one hour before eating. I assume in the AM.
That’s what I do, but you see the shape I’m in. HEHELove, Kitty

My doctor said it didn’t matter when you took it, just to be sure to take it the same time of the day every day. HOWEVER:
I am on the Hypothyroid boards now and everyone there says the best time to take the Synthroid meds are early in the morning, with nothing but water. Wait at least an hour or so before you have anything to eat.
I take mine now at 6:30 am, and then have some breakfast between 7:30 and 8:00 am. Also it was suggested that I take my vitamins in the afternoon instead of the morning so that nothing interferes with the Synthroid medication.
Regards,
Caren

Hi! Synthroid should be taken on an empty stomach. Either one hour before or two hours after a meal. You should also not take it with other meds or with any vitamins. And it should also be taken with a full glass of water, 6 to 8 ounces.Pat
AnonymousAugust 7, 1997 at 12:13 pmPost count: 93172oops! The actual “time” of day, I think, depends on your schedule. As long as it is taken at the same time every day. I have started taking mine around 8:00 pm, but, for me, that is 8:00am, since I work nites.
