      Shannon,
My synthroid bottle says take one hour before eating. I assume in the AM.
That’s what I do, but you see the shape I’m in. HEHE

      Love, Kitty

        Shannon,

My doctor said it didn’t matter when you took it, just to be sure to take it the same time of the day every day. HOWEVER:

I am on the Hypothyroid boards now and everyone there says the best time to take the Synthroid meds are early in the morning, with nothing but water. Wait at least an hour or so before you have anything to eat.

I take mine now at 6:30 am, and then have some breakfast between 7:30 and 8:00 am. Also it was suggested that I take my vitamins in the afternoon instead of the morning so that nothing interferes with the Synthroid medication.

        Regards,

        Caren

I think the Birthday idea is great. For anyone I have missed I hope
you had a glorious day! Jake I know you are one of the August babies
and I wish you a happy belated Birthday!
Mine is January 31st and I will be 30 ( yikes ) but that is a long way
off hehe, and I think like Sheila I will stay 29 forever :-)

I am having a hard time getting my Rai dosage, seems the hospital
can’t find the time to look it up for me. So I apologize to Redhen
for not getting it to her.

One more thing. Should synthoid be taken without food? I take mine
          at 4:30pm.

          Love to all,
          Shannon.

            Shannon,
Hi! Synthroid should be taken on an empty stomach. Either one hour before or two hours after a meal. You should also not take it with other meds or with any vitamins. And it should also be taken with a full glass of water, 6 to 8 ounces.

oops! The actual “time” of day, I think, depends on your schedule. As long as it is taken at the same time every day. I have started taking mine around 8:00 pm, but, for me, that is 8:00am, since I work nites.
