At my most recent doctor visit I was still “slightly hyperthyroid”. I’m not sure what my numbers were, but I had been feeling better. My heart rate was lowering and my hair loss had stopped. I am beginning to have an elevated heart rate again and my hair has begun falling out again. I am gaining weight (I never had the weight loss symptom or gain previously) and my legs have begun to ache (this it new too). My legs do not seem to be affected either way (good or bad) by my walking. It is from the knees down and is happening more often. The pain is not in my joints, but my muscles, mostly calves, but front of my legs also. Anyone gotten better, then worse and had leg pain associated with Graves? Also, any suggestions on what helps your sinuses when you’ve been advised not to take OTC stuff?

Thanks in advance! This bulletin board has been very informative to me!

I had extreme leg pain and loss of strength in my upper arms. Every time I got up out of my chair at work it hurt and I groaned. Sometimes I felt like I was going to collapse. I have a bad back and thought my back was acting up again and was affecting my legs. When I finally saw an endocrinologist I found out that I had basically lost most of the muscles in my thighs and arms. But, now 10 months later, I am climbing 3 flights of stairs at work. It took me about 4-6 months to regain the strength in my arms and legs, but I did. Hang in there!
