The problem is that it is not directly the FDA, it is pressures from interest groups to disallow them because of abuse issues.
As far as the doctors I spoke to, most of them were american doctors doing research outside the US because of medical pressures from within the US, mainly the FDA. The doctor that treated me is an american.

As far as the different races go, boy that’s true. However, unlike most drugs, synthetic hormones are used for all the races, as we all have the exact same molecular hormone structure. The main reason the FDA, and this is fact that you can find at FDA websites, does not allow the legalization is that they feel that the current treatments are okay, and are not subject to abuse, unlike approving steroid treatment would be (they think).

Sorry if it sounded like FDA bashing, they do a good job, most of the time.

Whoa! You sound just like my doc when you say “as we all have the exact same molecular hormone structure” I can’t feel the way I do because none of his patients ever do. Well I told him and now I’ll tell you that I’m not made like they are. If we all have the exact hormone structure then the entire world would have Graves! Just because one GD patient doesn’t have cold feet and I do doesn’t mean that Graves didn’t cause it. Graves attacks each of us differently so please rephrase that statement.
