i woke up the other morning and i could actually drive without my sunglasses!
i had to wear sunglasses whereever i went to. i also couldnt see to my right without straining my eyes.
i can do it now perfctly fine. i dont know what made it all better.
i seem to get less headaches and everything. i have never had surgery done.
maybe its a freak of nature? maybe its because im actually taking my PTU.
    i dont know..
    hope you get better!

Yes, I had trouble with my eyes for almost three years and had decompressionsurgery in both eyes. That was after two trys of radiation failed andmassive amounts of steroids. There were times I thought nothing couldstop me from going blind, and the eye doctor didn’t seem to know whatto try next except more steroids. I have developed glaucoma andcataracts from the steroids, but that goodness the swelling is down, andmy vision is fairly good. Unfortunately, I now have permanent doublevision from the surgery, but glasses help that. You will get better, but it may take time and won’t always be easy. I wish I had knownmore about the condition while I was in the middle of it.I had RAI last week after doing battle with Graves for 5 years. If Inever see a PTU again it will be too soon. Good luck to you.

No my eyes have not gotten any better so I am curious like yourself to find out how the “Double Vision” side of this disease plays itsself out.
I have been on PTU for almost five months now and I am beginning to sleep better and the trembling is also better. But I’ve seen (no pun intended) no progree on the double vision.
The double vision has not yet stablized to the point where I can look at Prisms or Surgery. So I take my 100mg of PTU four times a day and continue to think happy thoughts.

If anyone out here has some info I would sure appreciate it.

Is there anyone out there who has had eye sight problems where they have gotten almost all the way back to seeing normally. I’m not talking about protrusion. I’m talking about the ability to use your eyes normally. My eye problems are mostly in the movement area. It’s hard to look up or look someone in the eyes and it’s hard to turn around and see while I’m doing it. They’ve gotten better as time goes on but I’m wondering if they can get to where they used to be? Has anyone had this experience and is now seeing fine, without any surgery?? Please tell me your experience. Thanks KarenG

    1) My double vision has improved. It was never TERRIBLE,
but definitely was a problem. If I watched TV I would see 2 images-
one a little above and to the side of the other. That was in November
or so after first noticing problems in Aug/Sept. Now I hardly have
any double vision -things just seem littl out of focus, moreso as
the day goes by. I’m just hoping to doesn’t go back the other way.
    2) I understand no surgery until your eyes stabilize. I don’t
understand not being able to try prisms until then. I know they
don’t work for everyone, but they made such a dramatic improvement
for me I think they’re worth a try. I got mine in November. I just
got new ones last week because I don’t need them as strong.

Even though I could tell the original ones were stronger than I needed
now, I could still see through them so there’s not one magic number
that works – it’s more of a range. You don’t need perfect, just lots
    better.

    Take good care of yourself.
