    I was just wondering if there is any single parents on this bb. I guess I am only partially a single parent because I am still somewhat dating my son’s father. My son is 7 weeks old. His father lives a little under 1000 miles away and plans to visit one weekend every 2 months, so I guess I am pretty much a single parent. Rob (my son’s father) never sends money to help take care of JR (our son) and I feel pretty much alone. I also have Graves Disease. I can get pretty moody with GD and sometimes have to leave the room for fear that I will “lose it” with JR. Also, I will probably be having RAI this spring or summer and hate the fact that I will have to leave my son with my parents or a babysitter b/c I won’t be able to be close to him. Anyone else a single parent with GD? I just would like to talk to another sngle parent out there who understands both my frustrations (GD and single parenting)….

    Hi Robin.

    I’m a single parent, but have it lucky. My three year old son has been living with his father since I’ve been too sick to take care of him myself. It tears me apart, but I get to see him whenever I’m able or feel up to it. When Nico comes to spend a day or two with me, I have a wonderful boyfriend to help me take care of him. I know what you mean by things being difficult and frustrating. When I had my RAI in December, they gave me a rather low dose. I think my endo was trying to keep me from going hypo. Anyway, find out how much radiation you’re getting and how it will affect those around you. I was told that I couldn’t hold my little one near my neck, but I could still be around him. I have a temper problem because of GD, as well. I lose it over the weirdest things. Somehow, Nico hasn’t been a witness to it. I think we all have some kind of built in thing to keep up from abusing the ones we love. :-) Feel free to e-mail me whenever if you want to talk. This BB has helped me with my sanity a lot. A definite life saver. I hope you find it as great as I do. :-)
