Hi, Penny

I took PTU for 15 years, and was not aware of any longterm bad effects. In the rest of the world, this is not unusual; only in the U.S. is there such a push to RAI, and in large doses, too.

Of course, I am just one example; others may have had bad long-term effects. Do keep in mind that all treatment options have their downsides.

I encourage you to consider long-term anti-thyroid meds.

I have been on ptu for almost two years and was worried, I feel very well with them. I was worried about taking anti-thyroid drugs but reading about you just made me feel a wholte lot better.
