Deb, I had decompression done on my eyes while they were in the “hot” stage. The surgeries were six months apart and had to be done because two series of orbital radiation hadn’t worked and my optic nerves were being squeezed. Neither of these surgeries gave me any trouble. I was prepared for pain and who knows what all, but aside from some discomfort I had no trouble. I’m sure your surgery will go well. Everyone here will be rooting for you.

I will be having decompresson surgery soon. My question is, has anyone had decompression while their graves eye disease is still active? My tsh is 23.1 and my thyroid stim immglog is 9.9. Ive had this disease for about 12 years. HAs anyone gone this route, please let me know.
