Hi Lisa, I see the Opthalmologist once a year now as my Endo told me that the eye complication *could* develop at any time. Having Graves’ does not mean you *will* have the eye complication though. There is this little measuring device that checks to see if your eyes are starting to bulge, and they also check the retina to make sure no pressure damage is beginning. I have had Graves’ since 1991 and the only eye problem I have is some dryness which is relieved by liqiud tears. Better to keep watch just to make sure, but do not worry that you will have to face the eye troubles as well.
