Hi Peggy, This is exactly what my interest and endro told me about PTU, that is why I took the I131 as soon as I could. He suggests waiting 6 months after treatment to give the ovaries 3 months each to clear the eggs that were maturing while the bladder was getting rid of the radioactivity. I have a friend who had her thryroid removed in surgery due to cancer and she now has a beautiful healthy baby girl. She is on Synthryoid and it took awhile to get it straight, but not really that long. Her Scare from the surgery had not even healed completely!! Good luck. Joan
