in reply to: Sweaty, stinky feet #1067945
I love your comprehensive response Mammabear! ” title=”Wink” />
I would add that I don’t think my feet are any smellier now I have Graves. I think they are a little less so as I tend to wear more trousers / cotton socks rather than skirts / nylon tights than I did a few years ago.
in reply to: Weigh-in (just for fun) #1068721Hi all. Got such a shock when I weighed myself this morning. But checked a little later and I think it was just a mistake (phew) either that or I had managed to lose 6 lbs in an hour! I suspect that my cat was treading on the scales behind me – he’s not a fan of wieght loss.
I think I have now managed to stablise my weight – I’ve been on ATDs since January. And, on the whole, don’t obsess quite as much about food as I did. So, I just need to lose a little now. Easy huh!
I’ve had to put my ‘skinny clothes’ away in the bottom of the wardrobe Lacie – better out of sight than the distress of trying them on. But my running is going well – I can now do 5k in under 30 minutes, which, at the begining of the year I couldn’t even run 5k.
Just rambling now…

” title=”Razz” />in reply to: Weigh-in (just for fun) #1068672Anything that helps with the weight loss motivation!
(and I have to do the stone to pounds conversion…)
I’m currently 133 lbs and I’d like to be 126 – the weight I was before I quit smoking last year. I went down to about 112 lbs before starting ATDs – which is too low for me but it is still a shock to gain so much so quickly!
So, this week, I intend to not drink alcohol or eat cheese!
in reply to: I can’t do this any more – sorry :( #1069246Hi. I hope you feel a little better for the rant. You can do this. You’re strong enough to support other people here and so you should be strong enough to support yourself. And lots of people here are right behind you. Hang in there.
in reply to: I dropped in on my local DVRS office today #1069533Hi there. I have no great advice to offer either : ) But wanted to let you know that, at the moment, I’m suffering from the same list of symptoms that you are – including more frequent migraines. I am in work – but worried that my current lack of productivity may result in my being sacked!
I hope we all improve soon.
Helen.
in reply to: Crazy or Graves Disease? #1070438Hi all, Thanks so much for sharing how you’re feeling with me. It is reassuring to read that other people still struggle with the emotional swings, even when physcially they’re much closer to ‘normal’. It makes it a little easier to deal with somehow.
in reply to: having a rubbish day need a wee bit support. #1072018Hey there. Sorry to hear that you’re having a rubbish day. The best advice I can give is that it’s OK to have a rant occaisionally, and make sure you do some things for yourself.
W.in reply to: Graves triggered by quitting smoking? #1072080Hi. Just to say congratulations on quitting smoking. I celebrated a year smoke-free yesterday. My main reason for quitting was wanting to feel healthier, so Graves really hasn’t helped. But it is good to read that things could be worse if I still smoked.
