Don’t say you are sorry, you are of help by commenting. We need all the help we can get. My sore throat has lasted a month. Last year I had it for 3 mo. I have been to 3 doc’s and said, it is Acid reflux. My throat is not red or anything. My endo said, it is inflammed? It hurts and is sore. I don’t know.

    Hello,
I agree that urine issues are related to GD! For sure! I have had urinary problems since I was diagnosed, from UTI’s to waking up in the middle of the night to cystitis, and always a chronic issue. So, yes I believe so.

deberic wrote:Hi – I just found this site tonight. I had been on tapazole for 6 months when I accidentally discovered I should not be taking an iron supplement at the same time as the tap. Neither Dr or pharmacy told me about it! Thanks to eveyone for the info here, and sorry to "butt" in!

Why shouldn’t I be taking iron supplements? Thanks and you are welcome to post…that is what we are here for. You are not butting in at all. Thanks for your help…Tamara

    Hi Rhopp,

Don’t worry. I had found out I had graves in 2007. I had my baby June 2009. I was put on PTU which is the safest while you are pregnant. First of all, it is your life and your body and your decision. Find a different doctor, if they don’t listen or respect what you want. I changed and found a women endo and she seemed to understand me as a women. Anyway, I was put on PTU and had a breakout so I got on Tapazole. I had my tubes cleared and got pregnant while on meds. I took them for 1 month and my pregnancy made me go into remission until 6 month postpartum. Pregnancy usually makes most people go into remission. If you want to plan pregnancy do it. Stay on your pills and get regular bloodwork while you are pregnant and have them watch you. My endo did not make a big deal and he can be hard on me. I am sitting next to my beautiful baby girl, a miracle, and I waited 38 yrs for her. Graves did not stop me. God bless you and let us know how you are doing. Tamara

Jackie, You had RAI in 2007? How do you feel? Do you regret it at all? Did you gain weight? Do you feel better now? I just want to feel normal….I have been on Tapazole for a few weeks now and they don’t seem to work yet at all…I don’t know if they take awhile or what? Thanks all of all..

Thank you guys for your replys!!! It is so wonderful to have support. I had the rash breakout before I started taking the meds again…I thought it might be the thyroid. It went away. I only breakout with PTU, not Tapazole which I am on. Did you all have the symptoms of burning in chest and shortness of breath? Once again, talk to you guys soon and thank you.

Hello, Are you a teacher? How long did they tell you; you couldn’t go back to work post RAI? How long could you not be around kids after RAI? I have a baby and am scared because I don’t want her thryoid to be affected from my RAI. Just worried Mom. Are you glad you got it done? Thank you. <img decoding=” title=”Smile” />

I heard this also, that armour makes you feel better than any others. I haven’t had RAI yet, but wanted to ask about Armour before I did, because I want to feel good before I let them kill my thyroid. It is so frustrating…all of this. Bless you.

    Hi Billy,
I wouldn’t expect people to understand what we are going through with hyperthryoidism/graves. It controls every part of your body system. It controls your moods. I am hyper and I yell at people instead of taking a different approach and it pisses me off more when people tell me to be different. They do not know and will never know unless they have it. Just be patient with yourself and have faith…there is nothing wrong with you personally. I hope you get better..we all do. We just have to live with it and the people that our; our true loved ones will be there good or bad. Take care and bless you all!!!
