    Thanks Shirley.

I just got this information this morning because her pediatricians office needed a form signed in order to get her results in paper form. So I had been told by the nurse all her labs were within range.

So anyhow my daughter and my husband at this point think everything is ok. I was going to start looking into a pediatric cardiologist for her. But now this explains so much.

It’s hard for me to reconcile that her dr says she’s within range and fine when she is .1 away from not being fine and not in range. If I hadn’t asked (just from being a graves patient myself) I would still be in the dark and wondering what’s wrong with my daughter. It’s a little frustrating you know?

But on from here. At least I have some knowledge and experience to try and wade through these muddy waters again. That is the plus for her.

Do we have a link for pediatric endos? I got my endo from a friends recommendation and she ended up being on our list here. And I lived her the first time I met her.

Does she absolutely need a peds endo?

And once I do get home and talk with my husband and her about all of this I’m sure she would love to meet with more people like herself. I’m hoping it doesn’t come to all that. But I’m prepared to help her either way.

    So many questions…

    Thank you to all!

    Thanks guys.

That’s what I have planned. I have a call into her pediatrician and hoping she will just schedule the antibody test so we can know for sure what this is.

I had a feeling but I was hoping for a better result.

I will let u all know how it goes.

Thanks for the hugs Karen I needed that!

    Hi Amy!

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. Is it possible that you have gone hypo? If you look up symptoms if hypo depression is one of them. Just wondered if maybe you could ask your dr for a blood test if you haven’t had one lately…

When I was hypo I was very lethargic and depressed.

Hope this passes for you quickly.

He aso hesitantly prescribed me 5mg Ambien (20 tablets only as a one-time thing) as I’ve been SO loopy from lack of sleep. While I’ve never been a long sleeper 1.5-3 hours just isn’t enough. He said that as my numbers continue to drop I should expect much better sleep. Makes sense to me

    Hi boomer!

I don’t know if you know this or not but ambien can cause severe withdrawal and side effects if taken for longer than 7 days concurrently.

Just FYI since us graves patients have so much going on anyway, who needs more issues right?

    God bless

I am so sorry you are dealing with graves in such a young one. It is hard for us as adults to manage this let alone a child.

My advice to you is just to be his advocate. And do what you feel is best for your son.

    God bless.

    Hi sue!

Have you noticed if they coincide with your female cycle?

I have noticed I will get anxiety about 2-3 days before my menses and around when I ovulate. I think it’s a surge in hormones alright. Just don’t know if the hormones clash or get too high which increases the anxiety?

Idk. I’m just throwing it out there since it seems to be my experience…

    Hi talley!

Are you lactose intolerant? Just an FYI that synthroid (brand) has lactose as a filler in it. It caused me to have nausea.

    Hope you feel better soon!

    Hi msled.

I’m so sorry you are going through this right now. I also have the dry mouth and was tested for SS. All of my tests came back negative as well. I belong to a SS forum and quite a few people I have spoken to had the RAI done like we had and have SS symptoms now.

I am going to see my endo early July and plan on talking to her about whether the RAI can cause your salivary glands to essentially “dry up?”

I don’t know if any of this helps but try using the biotene products, brush 3 times a day and floss. I’ve been told that you have to be extra vigilant about your oral hygiene. I would also talk to your dentist as well and see if there’s Anything he can do to help. I’m going to a new dentist next week.

Good luck ! I will let u know any info I find out!

    Hi Becky,

Know that you are not alone. I have also been struggling to find the ‘sweet spot’. My dose has been changed so many times in the past two years that I have kept a chart of what dose, blood work results and how I felt at the time. My problem seems to be that I need estrogen for post menopause problems. I have found out that estrogen blocks thyroid receptors which means if my dose is not increased by at least 30% I become hypothyroid (big time)….sleep all day and barely enough energy to feed myself. Then the Dr. changes my dose and I go way too high very fast, panic attacks/ anxiety and insomnia. Right now I have some hypo and some hyper symptoms. Dry mouth so bad that my teeth hurt and I was just at the dentist last week. So again I have to get rid of the patch and try to go with out the estrogen. I had to drop my dose as I was literally going crazy, afraid to leave my house to walk my dog and driving my friends crazy. My children will not help me..I was told not to bother family or friends…learn to deal with it yourself.

Now I find out that all of my antibody tests were negative so I probably never had graves to begin with!!!!

What treatment did you choose for your graves?

    Karen,

Good choice to get it taken out.

Now you are cancer and thyroid free and ready to resume your life!!

    Keep on keeping on!!
