in reply to: Graves and now period of a fib #1183030Thank you all!!
So the cardio I saw today said he is sure what I had was not a fib, as it was only a minute long. He feels it was paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia.
Thoughts?
in reply to: Graves and now period of a fib #1183023Shirley, please do write more tomorrow. Ill check back for your reply. I’m so frustrated. I am in remission now and didn’t expect this. so upsetting. It could have begun when I was still symptomatic and not yet off the meds, but it still blindsided me. Any advice you have would be appreciated, as always.
-StacyI didn’t know that, for some reason I thought the antibodies were always present when you have graves, I guess you’re saying the levels change?
Good information! Thank you! Going to get blood test tomorrow. The doctor seems to think my levels Werent off enough to be symptomatic. What are your thoughts? Are they too close to normal range to feel crappy?
Thank you!

in reply to: Support Groups #1176313Just saying, id love a support group too here in NY. Did you try typing that into google as it is a search engine? Maybe you’ll get lucky and find something listed.
in reply to: New To Graves’ Disease #1176295Good idea to find someone else..that’s too long between appointments, unless you’re getting bloodwork done once or twice in that span that he plans to call you about .
Sleeplessness and sweating are a big part of hyperactive thryoid.
I totally relate..going from no meds to all these pills is maddening! Good luck.

The primary targets are the TSH receptors on the thyroid gland (which causes the hyperthyroidism), sometimes the muscles and soft tissues behind the eyes, and much more rarely, the skin on the shin.

I have a question. are there other areas of healthy tissue ever attacked aside from those three? Wonder why those three are involved? Thank you.
Is an increase in cholesterol definitely from the propanolol though? Because thyroid issues can mess with your levels..I had never heard of.propanolol doing that…
in reply to: (Link Removed) #1176231Huh.. good to know. Thanks as.always., Shirley. I look forward to your message when you have.time.
in reply to: (Link Removed) #1176229Sorry..wont happen again.
Shirley, what specifically is bad and.dangerous.in that article? Just wondering so I know because I was under the impression Elaine Moore was well respected. Its good to know there’s another opinion out there.
Just giving you support and saying if you feel that unwell it’s a good idea to get a second opinion immediately. Don’t assume you’re in kidney failure ..see a specialist and try to get to the bottom of the bloodtest levels and unwell feelings now. There’s no reason you should feel you aren’t going to make 40. You need to get to the bottom of your issues. Hugs.
Oh…(link removed) may know of a group for parathyroids..maybe…
in reply to: Achy and paranoid… O.O #1176243Thanks guys … you’re sweet. Xo
