in reply to: Going to get RAI in a few minutes #1175973
After 30 something hours the only weird things I have to report is extremely sweaty palms and feet, which ive never had in my life and my sense of taste is a bit off. I think being quarantined off in one room is harder than anything, my poor dogs don’t understand why I’m not showing them any loves, poor things.
Thankfully the doctor said I should be able to be around people by Christmas eve so I’m really looking forward to that. He says he gave me a relatively low dose of 29 milicuries. I’m just drinking water and abusing Netflix haha.
For those of you that had RAI already what dose did you get?
in reply to: Going to get RAI in a few minutes #1175971Well I’m 15 hours out after swallowing the capsule and the only thing I’ve noticed is a little trouble swallowing. I slept through the night which was a nice change from the usual 3-4 hours I sleep regularly. The doctor did say that in a few days I may have more hyper symptoms, so I’m keeping an eye on that. Thanks for the warning about anxiety, it’s unfortunate that we sometimes have the very emotional side effects of this disease.
I’m just glad to have taken a step in the right direction (fingers crossed) I’ve only been diagnosed for 2 years but I think I’ve suffered from this for much longer probably something like 10 years.
I just want to say that we are our own best advocates, I knew I didnt feel right and went to various doctors and received so many crazy diagnosis of stress, being a hypochondriac and I was told that I was too stressed out and I needed to relax. I had sinus surgery, my gallbladder quit working and then finally receiving the Graves diagnosis all the pieces to this crazy puzzle fit together. It was nice to know that I wasn’t so crazy after all haha.
Thank you all for the well wishes I will keep you posted, if you have any questions feel free to ask, you can also PM me.
in reply to: sinus infection #1175699Claire, I suffered from sinus infection after sinus infection for about a year. I finally had surgery but it wasn’t necessary. I later found out that THERE IS a link between being hyperthyroid and sinus infection, there may be a link between sinus infection and HYPO. You should definitely bring it up with your endo.
in reply to: Doctors refuse to prescribe anti thyroid drugs… #1175695Thanks so much for the information! I’m really glad I’ve found this group. Thank you!
