in reply to: Driving a car #1066101

I have not drove in over a year because of my eyes!
I lost some depth perception at first. That combined with the exteme light sentivity…… I just could not put myself behind the wheel. For the last few months, double and blurry vision has be added to the mess. I am waiting for OD ~ but am unsure if I really want to have it. No doctor can give me odds as to coorecting the light sentivity. I suffer so badly that when outside I have sunglases, a hat, and a light weight blanket or jacket to cover my eyes. When in the car I have been using the hat with sleeping eyepatches (but that just brings on motion sickness)
I know that I am in the small percentage of people…… Because EVERY doctor that I have seen has told me that.

I thought I was alone!! I have been dreaming of everything from the Christ’s return, to dead people (my dad), to people I barely know coming into my home to do home projects. These are all so very real — that when I wake I am checking everything to see if they really happened. I am to the Synthroid and my endo said that "some" patients experience strange dreams.
And last night I dreamed that i had 20 children under the age of 8 yrs — they were running around my house and it was maddness. It was so real that i went into my 2 children’s rooms to make sure that they were the only 2 that I had!!

I am at home resting after surgery. It went well. The dr took out my thyroid and moved my para-tyhroid glands???? in approx 1 hour!! I did stay the night however, my calcium levels were great the dr said…so i could come one home. I have a follow up on Monday April 13th. Thanks to all who have been praying for me. I am sore, stiff, and it hurts to move my head. That being said,,,,,I am so excited because I could actually tell a difference in how I "felt"! I "felt" better than I have in a long time. My eyes are a little more swollen than before surgey and the blurriness is still there but no double visison!!! :)

I was diagnosed with Grave’s disease two weeks ago. Dr said I was one of the small percentage of people who gained weight — not losing it! I am trying to learn as much as I can before the 26th. I have an appointment with a surgeon to discuss removing my thyroid. My Endo said that because my eyes are involved and the high T3 levels that he felt surgery was the best option. If you have any great links — please pass them on…
    Searching for anwsers……..
