    Hi Butterfly007,
I do have problems with my liver, I have fatty liver disease but I never used to drink alcohol as I was always the driver. I have back scratches in the sewing room, in my bedroom, in the caravan, in the laundry. Like you I get itchy at night. I was undiagnosed for 3 months. I have had no medication for 3 years and my thyroid is still with me. My levels go up slightly then they are fine, I have blood tests every 3 months. Sorry I do not know my T4/T3 and I don’t ask my doctor unless she tells me my levels are up, so far so good. I hope you can get your thyroid under control I wish you all the best.

I started itching long before I was diagnosed with GD and I itched during medication. I am off all medication and I know when I am getting hyper as I start to itch again. Everyone has different reactions to all medication but I myself can’t blame the medication.

in reply to: Muscle Cramps #1181710

    Hi,
I have had muscle cramps in my calf since I was a teenager my Mum said it was growing pains. I take a multivitamin every day and have had no muscle cramps for two years.
I now suffer from muscle weakness and I have always suspected that it is due to GD. It has been 5 years since I was diagnosed and I have lost a lot of my strength and can’t seem to get it back.

    Age when diagnosed, 54
I was diagnosed in 2009 with Graves Disease, I was placed on Anti Thyroid Drugs for a year then weaned off to see what would happen. Had blood tests every month for the next year then the Endocrinologist told me that if he saw me again it would be to remove my thyroid. With my mouth closed I said you will not be removing my thyroid. If my immune system attacks my thyroid again I will get many second opinions, I have been ATD free for 3 years, I have tried to keep stress free and right weight. If I am tired or feel my bones ache I rest for the whole day. I do not believe I will ever be Graves free, I will always have Graves disease.
Thanks everyone for your stories and caring of others with Graves.
    Renee.
