Hi there! I did go to my new endo, it was great! He is wonderful. The best news is that he did a thorough exam and found that my eyes are dry and irritated because we DO live in the desert. (DUH!) The disease just made it a little worse, enough so that I noticed it!
He advised me to use eye drops anyway, why suffer?
I hope you get all the info you need about your eye problems. Get a really good doctor that will take the time to explain EVERYTHING.

That helps a lot! My scan showed nodules, but not "hot". I guess my new doc is on the ball! Thank you so much.

This is a great idea, Thanx!
I had what I thought was a heart attack a few weeks ago. What do you guys think happened when I followed up with my PCP? NOTHING. She said my chest pain was almost certainly caused by anxiety. I wasn’t even referred to a cardiologist. ??? I still don’t understand.
My history: I am 52 years old. Divorced. I have two children, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. I have multiple health issues, not just Graves’.
My mother died in late April, I’m still selling everything off. This is my brother’s house, and he asked me to stay here. Another brother thought he could move in and stay here rent-free. This has resulted in a lot of fighting over who gets what and who has rights. Some sibs are no longer speaking to me.
I guess that would give a lot of people stress, huh? Reading over this, I’ve answered my own question! What a dope. Of course I have anxiety!!!
I guess the question is; How to deal?
 The best I can come up with is; let God take care of it. I’m no one to judge, only He can! I’ll let him take care of me, too. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

OK, now, this is worrisome. I just saw my endo yesterday. He says the Graves’ diagnosis is correct. BUT, I do have nodules on my thyroid. I now have conflicting information from cathycnm , saying that if you have nodules, you don’t have Graves. Who is right?

Thanks for the suggestions, I did use them. My new endo is great. He is a specialist in thyroid disorders. This guy was amazing. Did a THOROUGH exam, explained exactly why he did the things he did. Discussed pros and cons of various treatment options. I’m having RAI. He explained that my test results meant I need to have treatment ASAP. I appreciate my good fortune in finding Doc Johnson the first time out, as this is a small town and specialists are hard to come by!
I will post updates regularly here. Thanks for your reply!

hyperm, nerves are very understandable, but not too useful.
During the worst situations in my life, I prayed. I ultimately realized that the Lord gave me exactly what I needed, which was not necessarily what I asked for! We need to understand that it is not our will, but His, that will be done.
Give yourself and your worries over to God. Place your trust in God, and let Him worry about it for you.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to preach! But if you’re able to do this, you will experience a sense of calmness. Truly. I will pray for you. God bless us all

Hey, curious! As to the use of drops and overnight gel, I don’t even have symptoms, but my eye doc said I HAVE to use them daily for the rest of my life. Daunting, huh? You will find lots of posts here about this issue. Search "red burning eyes", or TED. It sounds a lot like what you have going on. I do know that, if you smoke, you had better stop. It doubles your eye problems. You will hear from ski or nancy on Monday. They are very knowledgeable.
As for waiting for an appt with endo, Yeah, I know. I’ve waited two months.
I don’t think that you should be too concerned, if doc says ur ok. HOWEVER-IF YOU FEEL ILL, TRUST YOURSELF. Get another doc, if necessary.
Good luck with everything.

Try not to worry so much. I’ve had multiple surgeries, some of them emergencies, and I came through OK. I have seizure disorder, and delivering my last child was weird! It will be all right. Trust in God, and your family. Think of it this way, You are going to have some time off, so enjoy it! You certainly must need it! Do what the doctor says, and take it easy. We will all be thinking of you. God Bless :ugeek:

People, I have a confession to make. I still drink regular Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and coffee. I didn’t realize that caffeine is so bad for those of us with Graves’. I promise I wil begin to cut down, and eventually get off of caffeine completely. As for seafood, I HATE it, so, no loss there! Thanks for this info.

Thank you, Ski. Do you know which agency I need to contact? Should I start with my insurance? Doctor? I’ve always worked, I’ve only collected unemployment for 2 weeks of my entire life! I don’t know where to go…

Hi. Welcome to the forum. I am a 51 yr old woman, just diagnosed in April. Yes, this is a really scary situation. I am NOT any kind of expert, but I do think your doctor is rushing you. This is just based on my experience, but my g.p. hasn’t pushed me to do anything. All she wants is for me to see an endo eventually, and she started me on antithyroid herself. Of course, I have to work within the confines of my insurance. But, if your testing was done (scan, blood, uptake), maybe your levels are really bad. Of course, if you don’t want the RAI, no one can force you to do it. Wait for some more knowledgeable posts here, I’m sure you will get better info on this. In the meantime, hang in there.
