in reply to: Skipping a day of Armour to even out levels? #1182923
It is hard enough to make sure i take my meds consistently every day that if i had a day a week that i didn’t, it would trip me up some for sure.
No, i don’t agree with your doc and think you should go with your gut feeling on this, i think it is pretty clear that you do not feel completely comfortable with your docs recommendation, and change your dose to where you think it should be.
best wishes!
in reply to: Question about Armour dosing #1182889Good day,
I am on Armour and doing well. My TSH is not in the normal range most of the time. i noticed recently that the time when you take Armour makes a huge difference. I used to take Armour (165mg) around 5:30am and would feel over medicated when i was getting ready to go to work and for a couple of hours at work.
Recently, i changed the time i take Armour to 2:00am and now sleep off the over medicated time and recently had a blood test at 8am that show my blood work to be as close to what i want at this time – FT4 is a little low, FT3 is toward the top and TSH is right where is want it to be. I feel excellent going to work now.
Timing is huge with armour. My TSH will change drastically during the day for me on armour from being non existent (closer to when i take Armour) to in range to higher than i want because it has been a longer time since i took my meds.
JustPete – You know you body the best, advocate for what you want from your doc and do not let them push you to something that you are not sure of or need more time for yourself.
best wishes!
in reply to: was surgery a good choice? #1182390Yes!!! Best decision i have made in a long time. I first tried RAI in 2011 and could not get balanced on replacement meds for over 2 years. Had TT last October and for the first time since Graves reared its head, i have been on the same dose of meds for 3 months and I am feeling better that i have in years. This is much quicker than i thought this would take.
I went with RAI first because i had heard good stories about the success – my mom, but it didn’t work for me.
best wishes
